This is a picture of a Poor Man's candle holder and coffee pot. The Poor man's candle base is full of sand, so it does not tip over very easy. I then make a coffee pot to hold the lantern so it will not break when traveling. I used a furnace filter as the buffer to the glass globe. I claim the filter looks like horse hair, so it kind of period. The lamp is actually a Bask(sp) Sheep Herders candle from Spain. The tinner I got if from, said that the man's great grandfather came over to America around 1810. So it is period, just from a different country.

The jar is at least a documented gold rush canning jar. The U shape grove on the top of the jar, was for the hot wax. The tin top was put on and when the wax cooled the food was preserved.

This picture was an idea I had that is fun to sell. I called it "Mother's Helper Cup." In the bottom, I soldered a rabbit head. The idea is for mom to ask if the kid has he/her drank their juice yet, and can they see the rabbit yet? Fun item to show people.

This is one picture of my stakes and associated work station. There is another picture that shows my stake station pushed under my bench. I used a mechanics crawler for the base, so I could push my stakes under my bench. I only had to put one hole in the 4 x 4 in the middle of the top, to put my stakes in. Notice, I put metal bars on either side of the 4 x 4 block, so it will reduce the splitting.

Everybody has a mess on their bench that has all those small items that seem to get lost. So, I built a small tin box that has a tray for all the pencils and misc. I then added a raised set of squares to place all my different plyiars, and a separate set of squares that contain my scissers/rulers/small hammers/files/screw drivers and etc. It really keeps my small items in one place and is easy to access. In the same picture, I built a round item that contains my liquid flux, flux remover and a plastic bottle with a long spout to dispense the flux.
